The fact that new projects are being developed on the right side of the Rhine is now well-known. Deutzer Feld with the University of Applied Science for Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia, the new construction for Maltese Hilfsdienst, and KölnCubus prove this.
The development of the site into a residential and service district has enhanced the cityscape. City Quartier now connects the inner city with the eastern districts.
Approximately 400 employees of the “City Office for Nature, Environment, and Consumer protection” are moving from Düsseldorf to Duisburg. We are building a modern office and laboratory building here next to the main station.
The DGNB-certified quarter connects three previously separated sections of the city. Here, an urban and architecturally appealing neighborhood with a great deal of green space was created.
The landmarked architecture on this formerly unused land has been revitalized, creating a commercial and residential district, as well as an attractive city square.
The mixture makes it work: this young residential area in Gelsenkirchen offers the opportunity to further enhance the city’s body of residential properties.
There were some challenges to be dealt with on the site, but today it is complete: a new residential and commercial quarter in the up-and-coming district of Harburg.
In an exemplary participatory procedure, the landowners, working with the city and the district, have planned a new quarter, which stands for balanced social diversity and inclusion.
We have upgraded the popular residential area in the south of the city by significantly improving transport infrastructure and then developing a formerly unused area.
This district development was planned for completion in 2021, but was finished earlier in 2015. The project won an award in 2003 and was nominated for the 2016 Land Recycling Competition.
Munich needs more living space. In the “Gleisharfe” district of Neuaubing, we have created space for about 550 residential units. A day-care center and four children’s playgrounds complete the offer.
This location attracts companies looking for a special ambience: with revitalized brick halls, functional new buildings, and huge natural areas.
In Münster, we have engaged in a location initiative to upgrade the area around the central station. With the refurbishment of Die Direktion into an attractive eyecatcher, we have also made a concrete contribution ourselves.
We have re-connected this brownfield site with traffic arteries and have prepared it for commercial and logistics purposes. With an international sports article manufacturer as a user, we were able to bring new jobs to the location.
The development of the residential area was accompanied by citizens’ workshops. That ensured wide acceptance. Green areas, soccer fields, and playgrounds, as well as the connection to the Nordbahntrasse increase the quality of life.
