A new use needed to be found for the former industrial site at Harburg’s inland port. A mixed-use plan consisting of residential, office and commercial was developed. Downtown Harburg and Hamburg-Harburg intercity express and rapid transit station are both within easy walking distance.
We conducted extensive renovation and infrastructure works on the area in close cooperation with the local government of Harburg. We demolished the railroad tracks, establishing all the preconditions for residential construction. The city district is surrounded by two green corridors. A public green space was created in the middle as a central point.
We already sold the first three building plots when marketing was launched in 2010. High demand continued for the remaining areas in the following years, enabling us to quickly sell the plots on the area. Investors, owner-occupiers and tenants have repeatedly highlighted the district’s location directly on the inland port in the up-and-coming city district of Harburg, and its proximity to public transportation.
