Aurelis and a forwarding firm were equal owners of a largely unused space of 120,000 square meters. The area was developed as a residential quarter due to its proximity to Gelsenkirchen's city center and continued demand for residential construction.
The development plan specified that around 23,000 square meters of the quarter would be a green area. The remaining space was structured flexibly and generously.
Thanks to its strikingly peaceful and nonetheless central location, as well as extensive green areas, the building plots of the Am Stadtgarten residential quarter were quickly sold: one year after development started, we had already sold around 90 percent in the first section of construction. The complete marketing of the 50,000 square meters of net building land was concluded after just three years.
The Am Stadtgarten residential quarter provides a successful example of an inner-city development. The constructions include both terraced and detached houses as well as semidetached dwellings.
