The new residential quarter is located in the district Barmen, close to Wuppertals second largest center. The urban planning concept of HGBM, a Düsseldorf based architecture firm, proposes a high-quality mix of multi-story residential buildings and urban town houses. It is the foundation for the ongoing urban-planning-process. Moreover, it is planned to establish a crèche within the district. With the traffic-calmed inner area and the direct connection to the cycle-path “Nordbahntrasse”, the district offers an attractive living environment.

An important aspect of the design is the view to the historic property of the former industrial and provident society “Vorwärts”. The development association that also carries the name “Vorwärts” takes care of the house with the Jugendstil-façade. The building contributes essentially to the district’s identity.
