A heritage-protected industrial hall from 1909 stood on the Triebwerk area with around 1,800 square meters of rental space. In February 2015, we concluded a long-term rental contract with Happy-Lini GmbH for the space.
The company planned to set up an indoor playground with café and restaurant facilities in the hall. The operators were particularly impressed by the area's central location, which can be reached easily by car and rapid transit.
We were responsible for the entire rebuilding process in coordination with the future tenant: we removed various fittings and fixtures in the hall and added extensions, renewed the roof with overhead lighting, refurbished the windows and installed a 250-square-meter gallery that is to be used for events. This created a harmonious overall visual effect consisting of historic and new elements. The Wichtelwerk playground has been in operation since February 2016.
