Aurelis has completed its first own building construction project in Le Quartier Central – on the last free building plot in the city district. The name La Tête (French for “head” or “top”) relates to the office property’s exalted position: the approximately 30-meter-tall building represents the starting point for office construction south of the Franklin Bridge. With a rental space of around 23,600 square meters, this is our largest building construction project. In November 2015, we acquired the Handelsblatt publishing group as an anchor tenant.
Due to its exposed position, the building has been designed to feature a particularly impressive facade. Closed and transparent sections, reminiscent of a transposed barcode, interchange to create an exciting design. An approximately 80-square -meter-large infoscreen, visible from a distance, has also been installed. This screen displays the latest business news from the Handelsblatt and WirtschaftsWoche newspapers.
La Tête will consist of seven aboveground stories. On the sixth floor, a surrounding terrace is planned on the east, south and west sides. A two-story underground garage with 295 parking spaces is also to be created.
At the end of 2017, the Handelsblatt moved into its 13,700-square meter space. The rental space for HAVAS was completed in May 2018.
DGNB gold certification is notified for the property.
